Asset Management Analyst

Asset Management Analyst - Multifamily Portfolio

Our focus is on providing superior living environments, exceptional customer service and outstanding investment returns. We purchase existing assets and focus on interior unit renovations, amenity improvements and evaluate rent repositioning opportunities. Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Analyst who shares our passion for providing the best-in-class experience to our residents. Our ideal candidate is detail oriented, analytical, and intellectually curious and enjoys working collaboratively. The candidate will work together with the executive team and have daily interaction with our COO/CFO, Vice Presidents, and Asset Management.

Reports to: Asset Management Manager

Wage Status: Exempt – $58,000 to $73,000 annually, depending on experience + bonus

Primary Duties:

  • Maximize the total return for each asset through the analysis of property efficiencies and identifying opportunities for improved performance
  • Develop and execute annual operating budgets, cost control measures, capital investment plans, and risk management metrics with the goal of maximizing asset value
  • Collaborate across all departments (operations, asset management, accounting)
  • Develop and execute cost control measures, capital investment plans, and risk management metrics with the goal of maximizing asset value
  • Evaluating and underwriting potential new multifamily investment opportunities using an Excel- based model. The evaluation process may include, but is not limited to, the following activities: reviewing P&L statements, rent rolls, and tax statements; researching and analyze demographic and economic market data
  • Ability to build and maintain positive vendor relations
  • Ability to assist and manage multiple projects concurrently and implement rapid changes in project direction
  • Oversight and execution of adherence to local government permitting and inspection requirements
  • Assist in the asset management of portfolio properties
  • Collaborate with on-site managers to boost resident retention
  • Build and maintain financial models, review leases, property financials and third-party reports
  • Supporting senior management in executing and closing on transactions
  • Monitor expenses and variances to maximize efficiencies
  • Prepare periodic property management reports for distribution to the Ownership, Vice Presidents, and Asset Management
  • Travel to real estate locations, client meetings, and internal meetings on an as needed basis
  • Attend various training and informational seminars to keep abreast of new policies and procedures
  • Take initiative in identifying problems and providing suggested solutions
  • Review and compile market data to ensure fair market value of properties
  • Utility Billing and collection analysis
  • Other general operational tasks to assist portfolio

Essential Job Functions

  • This position will be based out of the corporate office in Northbrook, IL (Hybdrid Schedule)

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • The ideal candidate should possess industry skills and be sensitive to the needs of the staff and residents we serve
  • Passionate about real estate, finance, investing, and/or private equity
  • Candidate must have 2-4 years of work experience in Real Estate or Finance and bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, or related field
  • Strong time management skills and ability to multi-task
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel; Yardi experience a plus
  • The ability to travel 30% of the time
